LIBERAL AND ROMANTIC SPAIN, A MUSIC STORY

Liberal and romantic Spain is a small, sweet project made of music and kindness. Just like Enrica, the woman who commissioned it to me. Our friendship bases its roots in some youthful troubles from three years ago. In that period we decided to walk side by side a long stretch of the Camino de Santiago, together with a crazy group of friends. Friends who are still part of our lives today, whether we like it or not. Already at that time we both knew that we shared the same passion for music, with the difference that her passion turned into a beautiful classic professionalisms. But let’s cut the chatter, I’m here to praise my client.

Some time ago my nudes of women where criticized. They were believed to be too much stereotyped in their erotic and provocative beauty. Even if that wasn’t really my intention and even if I had already had the chance to explain myself with the person who disapproved my work, I still feel the need to give women the place they deserve in my creations. Above all, I want to praise their achievements, not their shapes (even if these are always remarkable).

Having the possibility to give life to some brilliant and beautiful musicians like Enrica, Laura and Anne Lorraine was a great starting point. I rendered in images the short poems written by my dear friend and we created this little book that I hope to see published one day. I’ll let you read it and see it. If you want to listen to it as well, you can come tonight at “Sala Loggia” in Formigine at 9pm.

Liberal and Romantic Spain, cover. 3 azulejos, the geometric shapes found on the Andalusian Majolica. They are in three different colors to indicate each one of the protagonists of this adventure... this is the beginning of the liberal and romantic Spain.
The presentation of Fernando, a great classical Spanish guitarist, introduces us this story with the first of three poems. Everything begins with a missive...
Fernando gives the letter to the Duo Savigni. The message comes from the United States and includes the ide of a project made of music and passion.
Our protagonists, the dancing guitarist Enrica, the fortepiano player Laura and the mezzo-soprano who came from far away: Anna Lorraine Tonna.

The stage: the magical night of Formigine. Fernando shows us the way to Sala Loggia, a beautiful concert hall that can be found between the church and the castle of this small, magical village called Formigine.

The end. A dark purple to close the booklet, with the three symbols fading in the background. A faint closing of a fantastic project.
